That's awesome. It's a shame I can't get my hands on a copy of this, since I live in Toronto. Either way, though, congratulations. Keep up the good work!

ha..ha...
中文好像沒有"吃品"
這個詞....我想你
應該是想講 "食品"吧.

in these rainy days, i saw a small stream running down in a road at Sai Kung from tv news. it reminds me you're living in the area! did you swim in it? haha.

上次都想話你o架喇,我哋通常會講"食品",普通話會講"吃的",河生你溝到亂哂喇!

Posted by: 杜格拉斯 | Wed, June 22, 2005, 17:06 | Respond to this comment

Kevin, the "tv news" place is ATV, not TVB g. the building used to be a material factory that released all of its ink biproducts into the stream. the stream was extremely dark and the rocks were black. nobody would dare swim in it. these days, the stream has recovered and is quite clear.

Wan, 杜生, thank you for the correction. you are of course right and I have corrected the word ;-)

Hi, I come here first time.
I heard this websites from a magazine
It' s wonderful
I like your performance on TV
"add oil" on your performance job

P.S. : add oil(Chinese meaning)= 加油!~~^^

of all the foods you introduced, why cakes? is that a part of promoting the gateau affairs?

Posted by: cherrie | Thu, June 23, 2005, 19:27 | Respond to this comment

Cherrie, magazines always need ideas. they wrote about cakes because the TV series is all about cakes.

Sapphire,

we had one lesson with Thomas which concentrated on how to cut a sponge cake into thin layers, how to cream it and how to beat cream, eggs, etc. that's it. TVB hoped that we would at least look as if we knew what we were doing when filming. most of the real expert shots were done by Thomas and shot close-up to hide his face.

I'm definitely not a 師父 ;-)

I have bought TVB magazine and glad to see Greg's part. Frankly speaking, you look much younger with short hair!

Helen,

I'm not sure why you couldn't open the web pages. I don't know of any problems on the server side.

I can cook and bake but only basic things and I need a recipe book ;-) I used to regularly bake cookies and cakes as a kid so I definitely know my way around the kitchen.

Meant to say this since I saw the first episode of the "Gateaux Affairs". I can tell when the shots of caking-making are in fact done by Thomas, as his fingers are much chubbier than yours and "Mr Ko's". Also, I think Thomas wears a wedding band while neither u nor "Mr Ko" does. With regards to details like these, I still think the Japanese production is more attentive.

But nonetheless, I always enjoy watching/reading your work. Hope we can hear u sing real soon!

I stumbled across your site on google while searching for infor on 'gateaux affairs'. I never knew you're an Australian! unlike u, I was born in HK but moved to Australia. Just wanna say you're quite impressive. How does it feel to be able to adjust to a city of different culture and language? I'm guessing you're from Sydney. Good stuff Greg.

Posted by: Melissa | Wed, July 13, 2005, 11:38 | Respond to this comment

Melissa,

adjusting to the culture and language wasn't too hard, probably because I was young at the time; only 21 years old. the language is still difficult for me now though because I never actually studied it, and because I rarely go out and chat with friends; less practice. that's why some of my tones are still incorrect even though I've been speaking the language for 20 years. it's shameful but unavoidable.

if asked whether I'd do it again, the answer would still be yes though. because I'm known and because I speak the language, people here are very friendly to me ;-)

I'm no French maestro, but the continual persistance of printing the misspelt word "Gateux" everywhere does tend to pester me in "The Gateau Affairs". Surely, you being the only good English-speaking person there, noticed this and could have pointed it out? Not blaming you or anything, it just really nags me every time it pops up.
Final whinge, promise. Why can't Ken just team up with Paul to make cakes instead of going with annoying whingy immature characters?! You and him act better than everyone else there anyway.
I whinge a lot.
But congrats on everything! Keep it up!

Angel, you can link to my blog if you like. I feel very flattered that you would want to.

Hi buddy,
you looked really great and impressive in The Gateus Affairs!
I'm a malaysian currently staying in Aussie ...
and i really adore the cakes in the show esp the "Hoi Dou Shuen" (Ship of the pirates)...
have u tried that before??? how was it???
and that show really put me down a little as i expected Jean Paul and Ken would have the "fight" instead of Shuong and Ken ...
but u re really great! at least ur cantonese is much better than me!
keep it up! cheers~
