A new HANDHELD blog format

I've just spent the better part of two days working to make some of my blog available to people with 'handheld devices'; ie, mobile phones.

People could already view my blog from their mobile phones just the way it was but it would be expensive and slow because the blog is large.

The latest five eight articles will always be available in very skinny format, specifically for mobile phones. I haven't done anything with the style yet but The styles are also pretty much finished and the articles are there and very readable, by Nokia/Symbian's built-in browser and by Opera. I believe that IE will also have no problems with the pages. I also created a very short index page so that you can check if there are any new articles before you open the first page. You'll save money this way.

The main index page is at http://www.hokwokwing.hk/handheld/. If you view it from your computer, it'll look very dull and boring but it'll be fine, quick and cheap if viewed on your mobile phone.

There are no images in the handheld versions of the articles yet. I plan to incorporate handheld-size images later on. Normal images are far too large to download to a mobile phone.

The are no comment features yet. I didn't want to list comments because they'd increase the size of the pages, sometimes significantly. Again, that would be expensive. I might add a comment form later. I'll need to consider the best options.

So if you have nothing to do while travelling to/from work on the MTR or on the bus, you can read my articles ;-)

Hey, how you going?
I read your previous post about pushing too hard and depression. For a while now I've been through the same thing, and to read about how you described the situation was soothing in a way. I've always found it difficult to fully comprehend the way I feel. I wholly agree with what you said regarding no one will know what it is until they go through it.
Take care and best of luck!
