「虛擬城市」 radio interview

I recorded an interview with RTHK's Teen Power yesterday for their Virtual City 「虛擬城市」 program. We would normally conduct interviews live but it's impossible to know whether I'll have to work at TVB at the intended time so it's safer to record the interview ahead of time.

The interview will be broadcast on RTHK Radio 2 and over the internet next Friday, May 20, 2005 from 8 to 9pm Hong Kong time; ie, 12 to 1pm UTC time.

Rivers, keep it up. I always impressed by your acting in the TVB dramas. Although you are not the main character, you are attractive. I like your acting. It's good to hear you become a main character in "Perfume". Good job!

Found your site accidentally...this is impressive!

I am so curious about your view over Hong Kong~What do you think about it? Like me, currently stayed in Brisbane for almost 2.5 yrs for my degree, i still cant reli adapt to the quiet and relaxed life very much, Aus and HK are just different....I just wonder if you like the busy life in Hong Kong...OH~ this must be a stupid question indeed! If you don't like HK, why would you spend so many years here?!^^

You ought to win an award, for the many years of dedication, professionalism and integrity towards your passion. With all due respect, you are second to none; the best Chinese speaking "gua low" actor in HK! :). Ironically, you probably can teach the ABC actors in HK how to speak Chinese properly :)! .

WAY TO GO! YOU BRING PRIDE AND JOY TO AUSSIE FANS!! JUST CURIOUS, DO YA EVER MISS VEGEMITE? WANT SOME? :):)

>Ironically, you probably can teach the ABC actors in

not likely. they're all excellent Cantonese speakers. because of their Chinese birth origins and family backgrounds, they pick up accurate Cantonese in next to no time at all.

>JUST CURIOUS, DO YA EVER MISS VEGEMITE? WANT SOME?

yes now that you mention it, especially on toast. it has to healthier than marmalade. my parents are coming out to HK in June so they'll be able to bring me a few aussie necessities then ;-)

Posted by: 河國榮 | Tue, May 24, 2005, 22:55 | Respond to this comment

Just curious, what is vegemite? Some sort of fruit preserves? How is it different from marmalade? So, ur parents will be in town soon. R they gonna visit some orphanage in China this time? I bet u must be very excited abt their visit. Pls. send my regards (yes, a stranger) to them. (Hi, Mr & Mrs Rives!) I would like them to know that they r really honourable and respectable. Most important of all, I think they shld be proud of their son, U! If u feel comfortable abt it (& have ur parents' consent, of course), do u mind sharing some of the pictures to be taken during their stay in ur blog?

BTW, where can I find Batty's picture? I've been searching all over and cldn't find it.

Have a gd day!

Hi Greg! Hey wanna let u know that part (the middle part) of my comment got chopped off. Strange isn't it?

The missing part from the previous posting is:-

.... Pls. send my regards to them. "I wld like them to know that they are very honorable and respectable. Most important of all, I think they shld be proud of their son, U! If u feel comfortable abt it (& got ur parents' consent, of course), do mind posting some of the pictures to be taken during their stay?" ...... [FIXED IT FOR YOU]

Also, whenever I type a comment, my screen cannot display the last few words in each line. Any reasons for that?

Thx! :-)

hi Alison.

my parents will be here in the middle of June. my mother will stay with us the whole time. my father will stay a few days and then leave for the orphanage in Zhengzhou.

if you want Batty's picture (the larger one), it's at http://www.hokwokwing.hk/images/batty_480x360.jpg

the comment problem: probably a conflict of css and html; the html is set to display 80 chars per line while the css is set to display the comments field at 80% of the window width. I'll take a look at it. are you using Firefox or IE? on Windows?

your comments getting chopped off: the problem was that you accidentally typed '' instead of '('. the system thought it was an html tag and chopped everything to the end of the paragraph out. try to avoid '' and '' in the future. (I typed them without hazard by typing their html codes: 'lt;' and 'gt;')

regards,
Gregory

Wow, thanks for ur speedy feedback. It feels like magic. Thanks for fixing it for me. Really admire people like u, who know so much abt computer. I am quite hopeless on this subject. Thanks for Batty's pic. Still waiting to see the rest of ur dogs ... hehe!

I am using IE. Don't spend too much time fixing my problem, unless u enjoy doing it. I don't want to take up ur time on things like that.

Btw, is there a more efficient way of looking up the latest posting by u and other viewers? Rt now, I have to practically go thru' every topic and click on the "comments" to see whether there are some newly posted comments.

Hope u wld have a gd time w/ ur folks.

Alison,

no layout for comments yet. maybe (maybe) later. I'll have to examine the code and see what's possible.

In that case, how do u look up for new comments? Some of the new comments cld have been made to some dated articles. How do u do it yourself?

Thanks, as always. :-)

Posted by: Alison | Thu, June 2, 2005, 10:54 | Respond to this comment

Alison,

as the owner of the blog, I get copies of every comment by email ;-)

OIC, I always beleive that you check each old articles for new comments one by one everyday. This method sounds stupid and time consuming. Btw, how does it work? You mean our comment is sent from our email address to your email address? I don't think so! Or from keypad power to you? That means I can even make comments on those thousand years old articles also?

Posted by: Sapphire | Mon, June 13, 2005, 11:38 | Respond to this comment

Sapphire,

yes, if you comment on thousand-year articles, I'll see know about it ;-)

but after a period of time, I'll close the comments for older articles. it doesn't make sense to leave them open forever.
